Directed By Roger Kumble
This is by far the best scene in this film!
In the original cut of this scene , Ryan Phillippe's "Sebastian" character was supposed to bitch slap Buffy after she revealed her sinister plot and then attempt to rape her. However the studio did not like that version, because it no longer made Sebastian a compassionate character.
Umm news flash, Valmont isnt supposed to be a compassionate character he's supposed to be a vile, lecherous, creepster. The Original scene can be found on the DVDs deleted scenes section and adds a much more complex and ambigous tone to the film. Not just your typical good guy Vs bad guy scenario Hollywood is so comfortable with shoving down our throats.
I guess the 15 year-old girls, Sony was banking on to make the movie a hit dont wanna see there precious Sassy magazine Cover boys attempting rape.
thank god for independent films where at least the directors vision can win out over the big studios constant obsession with the Bottom Line.
This Movie is still Majorly Gnarls though.
Here is a tiny clip of that scene (its a lil weak, so you'll have to buy the DVD to see the rest)

Chloe Sevigny was spotted at 35 Canal St chillin with friends trying to stick to her emo hipster style that she tries way too hard to emulate.
Edie Falco was at 339 Greenwich St. Perhaps paying a visit to Tony Soprano? James Gandofini
lives in the neighborhood.
Heather Matarazzo shopping at 770 Broadway. The sapphic actress was at Kmart in Astor Place. Her alleged lover Anne Hathaway was nowhere to be found.
Rene Zellweger at 57th and Broadway. Seen with a Chanel bag...perhaps a Chinatown knockoff?
An NYIndieSeen Staffer spotted a C-lister and a B-lister...can you guess which is which??
Tyra Banks was seen at 10:30 p.m. on Spring Street right near the 6 train station. Her hair was uncombed and she had on a denim jacket with black stretch pants. She went into this lil bodega shop and bought 4 pints of OJ---some dude asked her to take a photo and she nicely said..."No". Cute figure. Cute butt. Bad hair.
Courtney Love performed at the Hiro Ballroom on 16th and 9th Ave. I pray she does not become the next Anna Nicole. Wasted...as always and skinner than a Rwandan refugee she performed a long set at this venue for free. Her arms were so skinny you can see the lining of her muscles. Her hair looked like a rag doll (nuthin new) and she totally had SEVERE lip collagen injections. She's startin to look like the joker. She still rocked the house though.

No Reservations: Directed by Scott Hicks
A staffer from NYIndieSeen has an attachment to this film since she actually worked on it. So, this review will be as tame as possible. With that said, I gotta say, this movie was just another romantic comedy cliche that I have seen in 10,000 other movies within the last decade.
No Reservations is about a Manhattan chef named Kate (played by Catherine Zeta-Jones) who is amazingly attractive, has her own fabulous apt in a ritzy brownstone, has a high profile career, and is VERY SINGLE. She has a problem opening up to men and letting people in to her perfectionist world of cooking. Hmmmm....damn I don't think I've seen a movie like this before. A girl who has it all but can't seem to find Mr. Right? Yea, this is definitely some new material here.
Nick (played by the towering Aaron Eckhart) is the new chef that comes into Kate's life and guess what??? Sweeps her off her feet. Well not instantly at first of course. The two cannot get along. There has to be that animosity mixed with sexual tension before an actual relationship begins ya know. The chemistry bewteen these two is more dull than my ass. Sorry, but its true. I've seem better chemistry between Dick Cheney and a Perazzi shotgun. Oh yea, there was one scene where Nick tells Kate that she needs to open up and let him in....I was feelin total deja vu cuz he totally sounded like George from Erin Brockovich. Totes.
Now the highlight of the film and the only reason worth seeing it is little Abigail Breslin who plays Zoe. She steals every scene in this flick. She comes into the picture after her mother (who is Kate's sister) gets killed in an automobile accident. Kate is now forced to take care of Zoe and Zoe help changes Kate's perspective on life and relationships.
Wow...I mean are there any other films that carry this same storyline or formula? Cuz these are some really original plotlines here. REALLY.
Anyways, you can judge it for yourself when the film opens on July 27th.

Let's talk about my favorite film of ALL time..............
So for those of you that have no clue about indie cinema or about how this film got made, the script was written in 3 days by QT. That's Quentin Tarantino of course. Then he basically got together all of this famous talent in this film. How did he get them?
Well his producing partner and friend Lawrence Bender was taking an acting class taught by Harvey Keitel's wife. That's right. So what do you do when your an aspiring filmmaker with an awesome script you totally feel confident about and find yourself in an acting class taught by a celebrity who you thinnk should totally be in the film and you find its his wife actually teaching the class????? You give her the script of course!! You hope that first of all she reads it, and second that she shows it to her superstar husband. You hope that he actually reads it and PRAY that he likes it.
Well guess what? Harvey Keitel loved it. He loved it so much in fac that not only he decide to produce it, he wanted to BE IN IT. Damn. That's awesome.
So Reservoir Dogs is about a jewelry heist gone bad. There a group of 6 thieves who rob the place. The police arrive at the scene TOO soon and it becomes suspect that there is one among their group who may be a RAT. But who is it??
The film stars Harvey Keitel, Michael Madsen, Tim Roth, Chris Penn, Steve Buscemi, Lawrence Tierney, Eddie Bunker, and QT himself. There are strong performances by each character and the dialogue is amazing. My favorite scene is the opening scene of te film including Mr. Brown's "Like A Virgin Speech". That's just a straight classic. I mean I have a whole new perspective about what Madonna meant in that song. Check this out to see what I'm talkin about:
Awesome right??? Yaaah you knoow u like it. You know u want it. Yeaaaah get it get it!!
