Coffee. Wifi. Books. Gallery. Drinks.

Above are just some of the tools required in order to have a great cafe establishment. If you're a coffehouse junkie and treat your laptop like it's a fashion accessory, then you should give Rapture Cafe & Books a try. It's located in the East Village section of the city.

I been here myself a couple of times and it's a really chill spot. The atmosphere has a nice combo of EV hipsters, artists, emos, caffineaholics, and writers. It's definitely the place to wind down to finish up that screenplay you've been putting off or to have a meeting with other film junkies and talk about the latest trends in independent cinema.

Rapture also shows movie screenings and have readings from time to time so just check out their website for details.

Tonight is Bingo!

Rapture Cafe is located on 200 Avenue A between 12th and 13th streets.

The Sexiest Lounge In NYC

Do you want to meet other indie filmmakers and possibly get your groove on with em too?

Well check out Madame X in the NoHo section of Manhattan located at 94 West Houston Street between LaGuardia Place and Thompson Street. It's absolutely free to get in during the weekdays, but they do charge a $5 cover on Friday and Saturday nites. The place has a sexy vintage Molin Rouge type feel to it.

It's is filled with hot DJ's they play everything from Hip Hop to Electronica.

The drinks are dirt cheap and very strong....just the way we like it.

They also host private parties and events of ALL types if you get what I'm saying.

So if you wanna host an Indie Sex Scene party....this is the place to do it!!! Bring your favorite sex scenes from the best in independent cinema and Madame X will hook u up!

Coffee, Chocolate, and Wine...A Nice Combo

So are you busy working on your latest screenplay but you roommates are making too much noise for you to focus?? Do you need something to whet your appetite while you get your creative juices flowing? Need a place for a meeting with a fellow filmmaker?

Look no more. Check out Cocoa Bar in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Located at: 228 7th avenue (between 3rd and 4th street)
It's cool casual and the pastries are delish! I'ts better to go in the evening rather than the day, cuz alot of Park Slope mommies and daddies like to bring their kids---which can be obviously distracting.
But if you need a glass of wine to relax or a cup of java to energize this is the place to be.

A new one just popped up in Manhattan! Yes! It's located at: 21 Clinton Street New York, NY 10002 (between Houston and Stanton)(212) 677 7417

Angelika Film Center: Chill Spot O' The Week

Where is there a cool chill spot to go to in Manhattan and talk about movies?

Well I guess that's sort of a loaded question given the fact that there are a plethora of spots to go to in the city to just relax and chill. However, this place is special because there is a movie theater attached to the cafe. So you can get your movie watchin on as well as a latte with a double shot of espresso.

The Angelika Film Center is located in the heart of SoHo. If you are an indie fanatic, then go to this theater, because that is all you will ever see. You don't have to watch a movie to chill in the Angelika Cafe it's open to everyone. There is also free wifi in the cafe, so bring your laptop and have a discussion group amongst friends about movies and film.

The Angelika Film Center is located on 18 W Houston St.

There are also 3 locations in Texas.
