Victoria Linchong: A NY Indie Filmmaker

I am currently attempting to gain critical mass in order to snowball my feature film GILDED CAGE into production sometime this spring. Some nibbles but haven't hauled in any big fish yet. Just little minnows and little minnows pretending to be sharks. Berlin Film Festival just emailed me saying that I was a "top candidate" for the Berlinale Talent Campus (I can forward you their email if you want proof!) BUT... they didn't accept me in the end. Sigh. I think I have have enough of these "yes but no" letters to paper a small room. I wonder if there's any way to make hay out of Berlin saying "yes but no".

Maybe blogging it would be an idea? A bit about myself - I am a Taiwanese-American writer/director with 10 + years in experimental theater, making the transition to film. As a theater producer, my credits include the world premiere of two of Tennesee Williams' last short plays and several plays by Nobel Prize nominee James Purdy. I have also produced an OBIE Award winning anti-war event and two of my own plays, the most recent one being RITE OF RETURN at Theater for the New City in 2004. I wrote and directed the short film DOUBLE DEALING, which was a finalist in the 2nd Annual 72 Hour Film Shootout sponsored by MTV and Asian Cinevision.
