If you haven't been to this museum yet and you live in NYC shame on you!
Don't feel bad, I went there myself for the first time this weekend...
The Museum of the Moving Image is a great appreciation of art, history, technique and technology of film, TV, and digital media. There are artifacts from costumes worn in great films such as Dangerous Liaisons and Cocoon. To wigs worn by Robert DeNiro in Taxi, and the jowls worn by Marlon Brando in Godfather.
The museum also has a cool ADR room (that's automatic dialogue replacement) which allows you and a friend to dub your voices to films such as The Wizard Of Oz and Glory.
Not to mention there is camera equipment dated from the early 1900's to the early 60's and wall of photos that commemorate the great Hollywood stars of the early 20s, 30s, and 40's showing the best headshots of these actors in their prime.
It's a fascinating experience if you a real film buff and movie geek like us. Check out the website for details of location and cost of admission.
