When I first saw this movie I was at a private screening before its nationwide release and when the producer Stacey Smith presented the film to the audience, I sorta had low expectations. The producer didn't sound too enthusiastic when she presented the film, and Jim Jarmuschhas a reputation for slow paced talkie movies like Coffee and Cigarettes.
However, this movie was a treat. First of all, it has a stellar cast.Bill Murray,Julie Delphy,Jeffrey Wright,Sharon Stone, Frances Conroy, Chloe Sevigny, Jessica Lange, andTilda Swinton. Second, the story is pretty darn interesting. It's about a guy "Don Johnson" (Bill Murray) who receives a pink letter in the mail with no return address. The letter is from a former lover who he has no clue who she is, that claims that he has a 19 year old son wandering aimlessly out there looking for his father.
Jeffery Wright plays Winston, who likes the idea of playing dectective and decides to help solve the mystery of whom this former lover may possibly be. The film takes you through the journey for 2 hours of this man going back into the lives of his ex-girlfriends and you soon realize why Don either left these women or why these women left him. It has its funny moments, sad moments, and moments of surprise until the ending...
To be quite honest with you, this movie's ending is pretty black and white. You'll either love it or hate it. Lets us know what you thought.
